Issyk-Ata

Issyk Ata valley, with its thermal baths, is located 80 km east of Bishkek. Sanatorium and outdoor swimming pools are the altitude of 1775m. An ideal destination on weekends.

The Issyk Ata  valley also offers many opportunities of hiking routes for enthusiasts, routes of mountaineering  to the highest peaks of the Kyrgyz Alatoo, start point for trekking to nearby valleys or to Lake Song Kul.
 

 

Shepherd's Life Association

Shepherd's Life is an ecotourism association founded by Helvetas offering yurt house and homestays on the territory of Naryn. Ainura is the coordinator and office is based in Kochkor. In partnership with the association, Nomad's Land develops new programs and contributes to the training of local tourism employees.

Irkeshtam

The Irkeshtam border post allows the import of goods from Kashgar to Osh, spreading the whole Ferghana's valley. The road is fully renewed from Osh to the pass and finished in 2012. From the Chines side, the road was finished some years ago. The cross is allowed for all tourist with a valid Chinese visa. (without local tour agency arrangement). The border is situated on the Chinese side of the Alaykku range, 35 km of physical pass Töö-Morun 3536 meters altitude, which is situated on the Kyrgyz territory.

Jiluu Suu (Tong)

Situated on Issyk Kul Oblast but accessible by road from Naryn Oblast. During the summer, it's main touristic destination of inhabitants of Naryn city. You may cure one week minimum if you want to get ride of your dermatologic problems. Many local tourists come to taste excellent kumys.

Ishtik ancient caravanserail site

This site is situated at the foot of the ancient border post of Bedel. There are traces of settlement and tombs of different centuries. There is still a dirty road to China, but it closed and guarded by Kyrgyz border patrol. In II-IV centuries AD the track through Bedel pass and southern Issyk Kul was already in regular use by caravans. Commercial use of this road stop in 1975.

Border zone permit is necessary. 

Kyzyl-Art pass

The border post of Kyzyl Art is situated at 4282 m. alt. in the Yalayskiy range, between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. On the way of the Pamir Highway M41 joining Osh to Khorog.

On the North side, the road is going slowly in a amazing valley. The panoramic view is opening on icy and snowy mountains.

The South side opens on a another world where the landscape is semi desert.

Traditional hunting

The Kyrgyz nomads certainly are the reason of a falconry. The art which is carried out centuries on high mountains of Central Asia and Mongolia. Kyrgyz prefer hunting by means of eagles, than hawks as a hawk - the bird is more delicate than an eagle. From his early age, the eaglet is captured and about one year develops. Eagle will remain the faithful partner of the hunter during the period from 7 to 12 years before being weakened. Still there are a hunting for the cattle and archery. These hunting have almost disappeared.
